Carolien Drewes studied piano at the Utrecht Conservatory, developing an interest in chamber music and a passion for vocal accompaniment early on. After graduating, she took a two-year postgraduate course in vocal accompaniment with Rudolf Jansen at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, as well as specialist classes with Rudolf Jansen, Elly Ameling, Roger Vignoles, Wolfram Rieger and the Schubert master class given by Robert Holl and Rudolf Jansen in Amsterdam. Carolien was one of the official pianists at the master class given by Roger Vignoles, Håkan Hagegård and Theo Adam at the Verbier Festival. She has accompanied at the Schubert Lied-Wettbewerb in Vienna and at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition in London. Carolien has extensive experience in chamber music and song accompaniment. Besides her work on the concert stage she has been co-répétiteur and vocal coach at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague since 1997, where she shares her experience with the new upcoming talents in singing.
