Klaartje (1981) started performing from a young age on stages in Holland and abroad. In 2006 she finished her voice studies cum laude at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she was asked to start teaching directly after her graduation. For her further specialization in early music she studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland. Klaartje has toured with the prestigious European Union Baroque Orchestra and Christina Pluhar and has collaborated with the Residence Orchestra, Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht (Johannes Leertouwer), Ton Koopman and Sigiswald Kuijken. Klaartje regularly sings in the small ensembles of the Dutch Bach Society conducted by her uncle Jos van Veldhoven. She is very much interested in projects which broaden her musical borders, working together with improvising and Jazz musicians. Last year her debut-cd was released with arias by Bach, with baroque ensemble and accordion. This cd was very well received by the Dutch press.
