Pianist Lisa Herger has been on the faculty of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria for over 20 years. As an accompanist, she works with instrumentalists and singers in one-on-one lessons, in team-teaching settings with the students’ principal instrument teachers, as well as playing for their performances and exams. She enhances this work with her historical and artistic research projects. Her research interests include the history of accompanying and the transformative power of accompanying as a pedagogical tool. Lisa studied Piano Performance at the Juilliard School and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, completing her studies in Vienna with a Magistra Artium (Masters in Piano Performance). Lisa’s love of accompanying led her to work at many Opera Houses and Festivals in Austria including the Vienna Kammeroper and the Vienna Volksoper. Her performances include appearances as a soloist and accompanist in Europe, the USA and Asia.
