Loes van Ras has played the piano since she was 6 years old and graduated in 1995 at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. Loes continued her study by taking private lessons with Marja Bon, Pascal Devoyon and Vladimir Tropp. After her graduation Loes started working as a correpetitor at the PCC and also played the piano in the North Netherlands Orchestra in Groningen for ten years. Loes has recorded several cd's, for instance with saxophoneplayer Peter Stam, composer Wim Dirriwachter and the Gauguin Ensemble. For18 years Loes has played in the Gauguin Ensemble together with Yfynke Hoogeveen (clarinet), Irene Maessen (soprano), Jacobien Rozemond and Sonja van Beek (violin), Sietse-Jan Weijenberg (cello). Loes has always combined playing as a chamber musician with teaching and being a correpetitor at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. Recently she became a studycounselor and mentor at the Prins Claus Conservatory.
