Mette Laugs studied bassoon at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Netherlands. After graduating (1994) Mette joined ‘Het Gelders Orkest’ (Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra) and was initially appointed co principal bassoon and since 1998 plays solo bassoon. As a soloist Mette played with several orchestras, as well as played chamber music. Mette is member of ‘Het Gelders Blaaskwintet’ and played in several ensembles including ‘Het Hexagon Ensemble’ and ‘Het Schonberg Ensemble’. Since 2008 Mette has taught bassoon at the Prince Claus Conservatoire (Netherlands) of Groningen and every summer organizes a music week in The Netherlands. In 2013 Mette also became mentor and coach in the LAB in the Master of Music programme in Groningen.
