Mikhail Zemtsov studied viola, composition and conducting at the conservatories of Moscow, Hamburg, Maastricht and Vilnius with among others Michael Kugel. Mikhail collaborated as a soloist with Jaap van Zweden, Neeme Jarvi and Dm. Kitajenko and has participated in numerous International Festivals as chamber music partner to Boris Berezovsky, Sarah Chang, and Janine Jansen. He has recorded 10 CDs for Sony Masterworks, Tower Records, Deutche Welle, D&G, Ottavo. He is member of the Utrecht String Quartet, Duo Macondo (with guitarist Enno Voorhorst) and Zemtsov Viola Quartet (together with his wife Julia Dinerstein, brother Alexander and daughter Dana). Mikhail is viola teacher at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and Utrecht Conservatory, and conductor of the Utrecht Conservatory String and the Young Talent Symphony Orchestra by Rotterdam Conservatory.
