Peter Argondizza

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland


Peter Argondizza lectures in guitar and history at both the University of Strathclyde and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he is acting director for Creative and Contextual Studies. Peter has read papers at the Renaissance Society of America (San Diego), the Creative Teaching for Creative Learning in Higher Academic Music Education (York University) and at the New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes. Peter was the first guitarist to be awarded Yale University’s DMA and has commissioned and premiered works from British composers as well as recently performing Luciano Berio’s Sequenza XI and Alberto Ginastera’s Sonata, op. 47.
