Biography

Canadian pianist Stéphane Lemelin is an active soloist, chamber musician and recording artist. He has recently been appointed Professor of Piano and Chair of the Department of Performance at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, starting in May 2014. Prior to that, he held appointments at the University of Alberta and the University of Ottawa, where he was Director of the School of Music from 2007 to 2012. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory and of Yale University, his teachers included Leon Fleisher, Karl-Ulrich Schnabel, Claude Frank and Boris Berman.
